Church records forms, 1939-1941, 1966.

The collection consists of information about churches in southwestern Ohio, which was gathered by workers of the U.S. Works Progress Administration from 1939 to 1941. A "Church Records Form" was completed for many of the churches in the following counties: Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Hamilton, Highland, Miami, Montgomery, Morgan, Pike, Preble, Scioto, Shelby, and Warren. This collection also contains information about one church in Greene County. The church records form includes the address and organization date of the church, a description of the building, the name and tenure of the first clergyman, a list of historical sketches about the church, and a list of minute books, register books, etc., held by the church. A 1966 index to the church records forms by Mary Edith Harrell is located in Box 15.
